Description:Often called the "blue planet," Earth is actually a kaleidoscope of color resulting from natural and human activities.Join Sir David Attenborough as he pieces together the remarkable discovery of the ichthyosaur, a fearsome fish lizard that lived during the age of dinosaurs.Learn about China's last empire, the Qing, and about the great Taiping Rebellion, which resulted in the death of 20 million and the fall of the empire in 1911. Reconstruction: America After the Civil War explores the transformative years following the war, when the nation struggled to rebuild in the face of profound loss, massive destruction, and revolutionary social change.Post-Civil War America was a new world. For African Americans living in the former Confederacy, Reconstruction was what historian W. E. B. Du Bois once described as their “brief moment in the sun.”Follow the journey of civil rights hero, congressman, and human rights champion John Lewis. At the Selma march, Lewis came face-to-face with club-wielding troopers and exemplified nonviolence.
