Berkshire Opera Festival

The Berkshire Opera Festival, co-founded by Brian Garman and Jonathon Loy, is committed to restoring fully staged opera to a place of prominence in the Berkshire community. After success with Madama Butterfly last year, for this second season, they stage 3 performances of Richard Strauss’ part comic, part serious opera, Ariadne auf Naxos at the Colonial Theater in Pittsfield. They also have recitals in Great Barrington (Gods & Monsters, 8/8/17 at St. James Place) and Lenox (Reluctant Revolutionary, 8/16 at Ventfort Hall Mansion). Brian Garman spoke about the Festival and this singular work by Strauss.
