Interview with Composer Reena Esmail on Classical WMHT-FM

Indian-American composer Reena Esmail was the Albany Symphony’s Composer-Educator this year, working closely with local students to create original music. Her music also began this symphony season as her piece Aria for Hindustani Singer and Orchestra kicked off the September concert. And her Clarinet Concerto will receive its World Premiere on the American Music Festival Concert on Saturday, June 3, 2017 with soloist Shankar Tucker. Here she previews that piece and her thoughts about music and culture.
