History is full of art. Glance back in time to learn about our creative past.

Visit the newly renovated Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA to learn about how the beautiful new design integrates itself into the landscape. Also, see a profile of the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library & Museum in Hyde Park, New York, which reopened in 2013 with a redesigned permanent exhibition “A New Deal for a New Generation.”

In the 19th century, when photography was still in its infancy, subjects had to be exposed for long durations before being captured on film. This gave way to curious Victoria-era photography conventions. Lastly, Melvin Charles discusses his childhood inspiration, the flag’s symbolic design, and the dream come true of seeing the Black American Heritage Flag raised at City Hall.
