Kate Mullany | She Inspires

Last Updated by WMHT Web Editor on

Irish immigrant Kate Mullany, a 23-year-old laundress, organized 200 women in 1864 to form the country's first all-female labor union. She went on to become the first female elected officer in the National Labor Congress long before women received the right to vote. Her accomplishments as an activist and labor leader are still celebrated today. Who inspires you? Share your story #SheInspiresMeWMHT
