In recognition of Teacher Appreciation Week, listen to some of the stories in this collection of edtalk videos featuring educators who share what teaching means to them. One of those featured educators is Nadia Murray Goodman, who teaches mathematics at Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies. Goodman talks about some of the surprising aspects of her job, like the stamina required, of which many people outside of the profession aren’t aware.
“It’s as if you’re performing because you’re on stage in some way. People are looking at you, looking to you for answers, for questions, for any variety of things, and you have to be on,” says Goodman. Teachers presented in the collection talk about topics ranging from how to fix the dropout crisis to the importance of social-emotional development. Share this collection with a fellow educator!
