“The Beat Making Lab” at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is where students learn to make techno, dance, and rap music using technology as their primary instrument. Here, tech-savvy students learn about the basics of production while also exploring new methods for making music.
Since its founding, the Beat Making Lab has traveled around the world to share their love of electronic music with aspiring artists in developing countries. Along the way, they use their “beats” to communicate ideas and spark conservation about culture, health and artistic expression.
