THE 30TH ANNUAL FORT LAUDERDALE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT captures the sights and sounds of the holiday season in an entertaining hour-long concert. This elaborate, highly produced musical production, staged by the First Baptist Church in Fort Lauderdale, features a 1,000-member cast of actors, dancers, musicians, singers and even a young acrobatic troupe. They all perform against the backdrop of a winter wonderland, complete with a horse-drawn sleigh, ice-skating and falling "snow." The program includes highlights from the two-and-a-half-hour performances taped in December 2013, including a festive opening act with familiar carols and holiday songs, inspirational contemporary selections, and an original skit about a town that forgot the meaning of Christmas. THE 30TH ANNUAL FORT LAUDERDALE CHRISTMAS PAGEANT concludes with a rousing version of "God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen" and a dazzling pyrotechnic display.
