New York's Wine Country![]() Part documentary, part travelogue, New York's Wine Country offers viewers a look at the Empire State's growing wine industry. The series spotlights New York State's four wine-producing regions: The Lake Erie District (of western New York), the Finger Lakes Region, the Hudson Valley Region, and Long Island. Host Dave Povero travels from one end of the state to the other, noting the distinction between the regions and introducing the people behind the scenes. Viewers will visit more than 30 wineries, meet the wine-makers, discover the natural beauty of the landscapes, and explore the growing presence of New York State wines in the marketplace. Among the stories in the series are the unusual circumstances under which Bully Hill Winery in Hammondsport (an off-shoot of Taylor Wineries) was founded and the "Adopt a Barrel" program at the Woodbury Winery and Vineyard in Dunkirk. New York's Wine Country is a production of WMHT Educational Return to Productions page. |
