Refuse to Choose! With Barbara Sher

Barbara Sher

Press Kit

Acclaimed author and life transformation coach Barbara Sher provides insight into a new emerging personality type in today's busy world in the premiere of WMHT's national production, Refuse To Choose!

The new personality belongs to a type of person who does not enjoy "choosing" only one activity/career/hobby for the rest of their lives, but instead chooses to do everything they love. Barbara Sher sees these people as unique and gives them the name "scanners" because they scan the horizon and see a multitude of interests to explore - rather than diving deep into a single interest.

Scanners are smart, curious, and always looking into something new, unable to decide once and for all what direction they want their lives to take, never fully putting their considerable talents to use. In Refuse To Choose!, viewers learn that this trait is normal and acceptable and, moreover, a genuine gift. They also learn:

  • The secrets behind what makes a scanner tick and the many different kinds of scanners.
  • Project management for scanners.
  • How scanners can find a great career-- one Barbara calls 'the good-enough job'.

Barbara Sher is a business owner, career counselor, and the bestselling author of six books on goal achievement and teamwork. She has appeared on national and local radio and television, including Oprah, The Today Show, 60 Minutes, CNN and Good Morning America.

Refuse To Choose! is the fourth of Barbara Sher's national public television programs, including "It's Only Too Late If You Don't Start Now, How to Create Your Second Life at Any Age," "Live the Life You Love/Map to Success," and "Barbara Sher's Idea Party".

Refuse To Choose! is produced/directed by Dave Povero of WMHT and Executive Producer is Marianne Potter, WMHT Vice President of Television.
