Health Link Clip 'n Carry - Successful Joint Replacement Surgery

We have not reached the point of bionic men and women, but when a damaged joint is replaced, people say they feel "good as new".
Some 435,000 people a year undergo hip or knee replacement surgery - and that does not count ankle, shoulder, finger or elbow replacement procedures.
Success depends, not only on the skill of your surgeon, but on you being a good patient post op - that means following your doctors advice about foods you can eat, medicines to take and post- surgery exercise.
Complications you should discuss before surgery may include infection, blood clots, loosening of the new joint which may necessitate repeat surgery, dislocation, wear, nerve and blood vessel injury. Luckily, most of these are treatable.
