The condition is often misunderstood and mistakenly diagnosed. For those with severe symptoms, FMS can be extremely debilitating. This week on Health Link we will help you understand the symptoms and bring you up to date on the latest in treatment and research. James Strosberg, MD, FACP Dr. James Strosberg has been an attending physician at Sunnyview Rehabilitation Hospital and Ellis Hospital in Schenectady since 1976. He is also an adjunct professor in clinical medicine (rheumatology) at Albany Medical College in Albany. Dr. Strosberg is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Internal Medicine, the American Board of Rheumatology, and the American Board of Geriatrics. Ms. Fennell is an innovator in the chronic illness and mental health fields, and she created the internationally recognized Fennell Four-Phase Treatment (FFPT)TM approach for understanding and treating chronic syndromes. The model has been translated into several languages and is used by clinicians, researchers, and patients worldwide. Pat Fennell is a theorist, researcher, and author of several scholarly and popular books and articles, including The Chronic Illness Workbook, Managing Chronic Illness Using the Four-Phase Treatment Approach, and The Handbook of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Pat Fennell was recently nominated to serve as a scientific advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Health and was asked to participate as a peer reviewer for the American Pain Society. She was also appointed to serve on an allied health care advisory committee for the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
