The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York is a not-for-profit human service agency whose mission is to reduce the risk, fear and incidence of HIV infection, encourage the independence of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS and promote understanding of their needs. The council provides education and outreach to at-risk individuals and the general public, offer direct assistance and service coordination for people living with HIV/AIDS and serve as public advocates.   The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York provides services to over 1,000 persons living with HIV or AIDS and their family members each year. Since 1984, the AIDS Council has made over half a million contacts through prevention training and outreach. Serving Albany, Clinton, Columbia, Essex, Franklin, Fulton, Greene, Hamilton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Schoharie, Warren, and Washington Counties, with transportation services available to Delaware and Otsego Counties.  They offer the AIDS Information Hotline:  (518) 445-AIDS or (800) 201-AIDS, Monday - Friday, 9am to 10pm.  Main number:  518 434-4686

The Albany Damien Center is a community center for individuals and families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.  Programs and activities offered are designed to improve health, reduce stress, and increase quality of life.  The center is located at 12 South Lake Avenue, Albany NY (between Western and Madison Avenues.)

Albany Medical College, Division of HIV Medicine
Since 1981, the Medical Center has been caring for patients with HIV infection who live in the 23 county area it serves. In May 1987, the NYS Department of Health designated Albany Medical Center as a regional AIDS Treatment Center, charged with the provision of a wide range of services to people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and AIDS. The designation as an AIDS Treatment Center allows for increased services, coordinated care, and a wider range of programs than would otherwise be available.  (518) 262-4043

The Capital District African-American Coalition on AIDS provides HIV prevention and outreach services to African-Americans. It sponsors an annual conference to educate Black clergy and mainstream service providers about the need for targeted prevention services to African-Americans.
