On the next Health Link we'll take a look at AIDS a familiar disease that is
somehow on the rise again. Find out why we just arent scared anymore, and what
you can do to make a difference.
Cynthia Miller, MD
Dr. Miller is the Clinic Director at
Albany Medical Center's HIV/ AIDS Treatment Center in Albany. With others, Dr.
Miller has developed hospital policy and implementation for HIV testing and for
prophylaxis against HIV after sexual assault. In conjunction with Pediatrics,
she provides care for women at the Maternal Child Coordinated Care
Clinic.
David Ray, MD
Dr. Ray is an HIV Specialist,
and the Medical Director of the CHEER Department at Whitney M. Young Jr. Health
Center located in Albany. He is also the Chief of Adult Medicine at the
center.
Perry Junjulas
Perry is the Executive
Director of the Albany Damien Center, a community center for individuals and
families living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Joseph
Kerwin
Joseph is the Executive Director of the Catholic Charities
Diocesan AIDS Services in Albany.
Vanessa
Johnson
Vanessa is the Deputy Director for the Capital District
African American Coalition on AIDS, located in Albany.
The Albany Damien Center is a community center for individuals and families
living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Programs and activities offered are
designed to improve health, reduce stress, and increase quality of life.

The AIDS Council of Northeastern New York provides services
to almost 1,200 persons living with HIV or AIDS, and 500 family members, each
year and reaches over 111,000 people per year through education and outreach
programs.
