The Alzheimer's Association, Northeastern New York Chapter serves a 17-county area in the northeastern most corner of New York State.  They provide education materials, information and referral services to approximately 24,000 family caregivers who need support, respite care and an array of tools to help them with the difficult task of caring for their loved one.  They have an administrative office in Albany and 11 Point-of-Services located throughout the region, including Sidney, Delhi, Cooperstown, Glens Falls, Queensbury, Indian Lake, Hudson, Catskill, Johnstown, Amsterdam and Fort Edward.  24-hour Helpline: 1.800.272.3900

Care Links is a creative Community Caregivers Program providing non medical care to neighbors 55 and over who are in need and respite relief for those responsible for their care.  The Care Links Community Caregivers Program is geographically defined by the boundaries of the Towns of Clifton Park, Halfmoon, and Malta.  Services include:  friendly visiting, information and referral, light housekeeping, grocery and other shopping assistance, meal preparation, medical and non medical transportation, respite assistance and

Community Caregivers are over 450 neighbors who can spare a little bit of time for others in our neighborhood primarily the disabled, chronically ill and elderly people, including those needing transportation, in-home assistance, telephone reassurance and some household chores could receive help from our volunteers. The Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is administered by the New York State Office for the Aging under provisions of the federal Older Americans Act. It is a coordinated system of State and local advocacy services to receive, investigate and resolve complaints and concerns of residents in long term care facilities.
