Laugh, Love and Eat with John Tickell, M.D.

Laugh, Love and Eat with John Tickell, M.D.

Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 8:30am on WMHT TV

In the first half of the last 100 years, our life expectancy rose considerably because of three things: sanitation, vaccination and antibiotics. But in the last 50 years, life expectancy has increased by only a few months, overcome by our worsening eating and drinking habits. Our health expectancy is getting worse, not better. International speaker, best-selling author and medical doctor John Tickell has spent the last 25 years researching the health, well-being and longevity patterns of people around the world. Dr. Tickell and his two children, who are also medical doctors, have visited more than 100 countries, studying the living and eating habits of the longest- living, healthiest people on earth. In this new PBS special, Dr. Tickell presents an interpretation of that research in an accessible, practical way so that audiences can put these important findings to work in their own lives. LOVE, LAUGH & EAT WITH JOHN TICKELL, M.D. is part of special programming airing  Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 8:30am on WMHT TV.

The program provides information on the following subjects:

  • An in-depth exploration of Dr. Tickell’s healthy living self-management skills — A. C. E. skills (Activity, Coping, and Eating) — with actionable items for viewers to put to work immediately.
  • The secrets of the Okinawa people of Japan, a culture where people live the longest with no incidence of obesity, extremely low rates of cancer and heart disease, and no rest homes for the elderly because they’re not necessary.
  • Dr. Tickell’s Four Rules of Nutrition that lead to a slimmer, younger, better-looking you — all based upon that latest science.
  • Dr. Tickell’s rules for a healthy life, including “everything in moderation except Laughter and Love!” and much more.
