Estate gifts are a essential source of funding for WMHT, and one of the easiest gifts to make.
How Do You Make a Bequest?
You work with your attorney to include language in your will or trust specifying any gifts to be made to family, friends and charities so that your estate plan conveys your love and values.
You Can Decide –Bequest Options
In your will, you have choices as to how you name WMHT as a beneficiary. You can make a gift of:
• a specific dollar amount or asset (ex. $10,000 or 100 shares of XYZ Stock)
• a percentage of your estate (ex. 5%)
• a contingency bequest: (in case one or more of your bequests cannot be fulfilled).
• a portion or all of a retirement account or insurance policy.

Whichever choice you make, it is important that your attorney know that bequests should be made to: WMHT Educational Telecommunications, 4 Global View, Troy, NY 12180. Our federal tax identification number is 14-1400177.
Fulfill Special Wishes
While an unrestricted gift to WMHT provides the most flexibility in directing your important contribution to where it is most needed, we understand that you may want your gift to be used in a specific way, and WMHT will always strive to honor your wishes. Of course, it is impossible to predict all future occurrences, so if you do decide to restrict your bequest, we ask that you include the following language in your will:
'If at any time, in the judgment of the Board of Trustees of WMHT Educational Telecommunications, it is no longer practicable to use the income or principal of this bequest for the purpose stated herein, I authorize them to use the income or principal for any purpose they deem to be consistent with such purpose.'
