
WMHT is pleased to recognize these winners of our Student & Teacher of the Month contest!

| Michael Laboy is a fifth grader at School 2 in Troy. Michael is a hard worker - - diligent, and persistent when faced with a challenge. Kind and generous, he always wants to help his fellow students to be successful too. Congratulations to Michael Laboy, WMHT's Student of the Month.
|  | Lauren Fox is an
11th grade student at Greenville
Central High
School. She displays many positive qualities in
all areas of her life. She is a member of the National Honor Society and
plays on the Girl’s Varsity Basketball Team. She also dedicates many hours
to her school and community each week by volunteering as a Big Sister. |  | James Nash, a 7th
grade teacher from Doyle
Middle School, was nominated by one of
his students. This is what she had to say about him, “I’m nominating Mr.
Nash because he makes social studies fun for me. Until Mr. Nash’s class, I
didn’t do very well in social studies but have improved so much. He is a
great teacher and easy to talk to. He cares about his students.”

 | Our Student of the Month is Craig Gardner from Guilderland High School.
Due to a heart condition, Craig is unable to compete in sports but
still chooses to be involved in sports as the Varsity Football and
Varsity Basketball Manager and is an an integral member of each
team. He gained respect from all the players and coaches by
committing 110%. Craig is a wonderfully loyal and dedicated
person who never lets his heart condition get to him or beat him.
|  | Using the GOTO Chronos Space Simulator, our Teacher of the Month, Steve Russo from the Schenectady Museum’s Suits-Bueche Planetarium,
makes the Planetarium a classroom for school children of all
ages. He uses years of expertise and the latest technology to
teach science and math through the stars. He is a teacher in the
best sense of the word — he shares knowledge. |
