Resources for Students
Did you know that when TV was invented, many people thought that it would become the greatest educational tool ever created? At WMHT, we still think TV can be that great educational tool, and it can be tons of fun, too. That's why we offer shows you'll love every weekday on WMHT. But it doesn't stop there. Along with our partners at PBS Kids and PBS Kids GO!, we have a whole lot of online games, projects and webisodes just waiting for you to discover. So what are you waiting for? Start poking around!
For Teens and Older Kids
Looking for a good book to read or just someone to chat with? Take an electronic stroll on over to the teen pages at your local public library. Need some advice on applying for college or financing your higher education? No worries. Visit CollegeIsPossible.org.
Hey, all you teens out there: When making money is the aim, the Biz Kid$ play the game. Can you dig it? More 'Biz Kid$' episodes will be coming your way Sunday mornings at 8 a.m.
For Younger Kids
Want to play games online with your favorite PBS characters or find out what to watch on TV? See our Kids' TV page.
We welcome you to join 'The Electric Company,' a band of superhero friends who use their super powers and a whole lot of music to keep their neighborhood safe from a bunch of tricky pranksters. 'The Electric Company' is on WMHT weekdays at 5 p.m.
Are you a fan of 'Fetch!,' on WMHT weekdays at 3:30 p.m.? If so, did you know that the Schenectady Museum and Suits-Bueche Planetarium offers a 'Fetch!' Lab for hands-on science fun? It's true. Click here to see the schedule of cool experiments, from cannister rockets to a game of Mindball. What's Mindball, you ask? You'll have to go to the museum to find out.
There's a ton more fun awaiting you at PBS Kids and PBS Kids GO! online. And you can add to the fun by sharing your own special talents with WMHT and the whole PBS community nationwide. Don't be shy; show us what you've got!
Also, for ambitious young authors, check out this year's PBS Kids GO! Writers' Contest.
