Next on 'New York NOW': MTA Lawsuit
Lt. Gov. Dick Ravitch released his five year plan to address the state's increasing budget deficit Thursday and it's being received, so far, with a lukewarm response. We'll detail what's in the proposal and analyze the good and the bad at our Reporter Roundtable with Ken Lovett of The Daily News, James Madore of 'Newsday' and Karen DeWitt of New York State Public Radio. Plus, Southern Tier Congressman Eric Massa resigned this week due to allegations of sexual harassment. The former representative of the 29th District made the rounds on cable talk shows this week, leaving some people shaking their heads, including Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb, a resident of Massa's former district; watch below. Also, we'll tell you the story of a Long Island businessman so fed up with the payroll tax downstate that he is undertaking the Herculean task of suing the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA). Bill Schoolman, who runs a luxury motor coach company that competes with MTA services, says the payroll tax is unconstitutional and hopes his lawsuit will open some eyes in Albany; watch preview below.
