What is the West? Is it just a portion of land to the left of the Mississippi, right of the Pacific? To many, the West is an idea, a notion of open spaces and freedom - a place infused with wildness. Some say this wildness comes not only from mountains and deserts, but from animals like the grizzly bears, cougars and wolves who have always called the West home.

Predator Legends goes in search of the meaning these large predators evoke for people of the northwest United States. Filmed in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, amid the sweeping habitats of these animals, the camera captures images of the living legends and the people most familiar with them.
