Miss Nikki and the Tiger Girls is an intimate portrait of a spirited young Australian band manager as she tries to empower Myanmar's first all-girl band to speak out in one of the world's most repressive regimes. The film mirrors the remarkable change that has taken place in Burma since shooting began over three years ago.

Following five young women breaking free of tradition in search for an original voice,Miss Nikki & The Tiger Girls provides a powerful metaphor for a country suddenly thrust onto the world stage. Using songs written by the girls to progress the narrative, the Tiger Girls search for freedom of expression mirrors the tentative steps their country is taking towards doing the same thing.
