Do you students have “nature deficit disorder”? Give them the cure with this lesson plan on how they can connect and learn from nature!

This video from UNC-TV’s “North Carolina ScienceNow” features the Center for Human-Earth Restoration, which offers camps, classes and seminars that provide students with a new style of environmental education. Students gain a new appreciation for nature by restoring the ecological health of the landscape.

Stimulate their creative thinking by asking them what benefits they experience when they spend time in nature. Teach your students specifics by helping them name of at least one tree, bird, insect and wildflower by exploring the outdoors, or even looking outside their classroom window! LESSON:
