Born to Royalty celebrates the birth of the latest Royal baby - the latest Heir to the throne of the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. With contributions from relatives and those close to the Royal family, members of the Royal household staff, historians, Royal observers and photographers, Born to Royalty examines what it means to be raised in such a world.
This film looks at the differences of a Royal baby’s arrival, how the baby is tended to and the staff that are involved. It examines the changing way that Royals have dealt with their own children – becoming more hands-on but still remaining Royal. The film also includes classic archive footage and stills from the days of Queen Victoria and her brood of children, through to the current Queen, her parents and grandparents, her children and the next generation.
This film also looks at what it means to enter this rarefied world when not Born to Royalty... What this meant for the likes of Princess Grace of Monaco and Princess Diana and now Kate.
Stories of Royal delivery rooms, nurseries, playtime, schooling, nannies and governesses as well as the Royals themselves as babies and beyond...right through to their own parenthood; all combine to bring this world to life and to shed fresh light on what life was like - and what life will be like - for the latest arrival to be Born to Royalty
