The former stars of the mega-hit acts Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons, Tommy James & The Shondells and more, THE HIT MEN are coming to public television as a concert special! The TV special was produced from a live stage show performed at the Mohegan Sun in Connecticut.
Not the cast from Jersey Boys, not a Four Seasons cover band, THE HIT MEN are the authentic rock and rollers whose legacy includes hundreds of mega hit records from the ‘60s-‘80s. These guys toured the world with Frankie Valli. Recorded numerous hit albums with him. And sang the lead vocals on songs like “Oh What a Night” – the biggest Seasons hit of all time. Members of THE HIT MEN also toured and recorded with Tommy James, Carly Simon, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens and Elton John.
Their show is an amazing look back through rock and roll history, with all of those great songs from the Four Seasons songbook – from “Who Loves You”, “Dawn”, and “Let’s Hang On” to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You”, “Marianne”, “Silence is Golden” and Sherry”.
THE HIT MEN also perform many other memorable solid gold hits that they helped make famous – including Jim Croce’s “Leroy Brown” and “You Don’t Mess Around with Jim” and Tommy James “I Think We’re Alone Now”, “Hanky Panky” and “Mony Mony”.
You'll know every word in every song in this night of mega hits – performed by the artists you heard on the original records, listened to on the radio, watched on TV and saw in concert.
Says music director, former Four Seasons member and “Hit Man” Lee Shapiro, “This show is a chance for everyone to relive the glory days of rock and roll with a great group of guys who actually lived and breathed the experience. You’ll watch the show, exhilarated, excited and wanting more. We guarantee it!”
