Behind-the-Scenes of WMHT's Memories of the March
Local Change Makers who were at The March shared stories with activists
On Monday, August 5th, community members from the Greater Capital Region (including the Berkshires) came together for a reflection on the 1963 March on Washington and its local impact. Many of the amazing people in the room attended the March on Washington in 1963. They shared their stories and spoke with younger change-makers and activists about what life looked like for them in 1963 and the changes they have seen since the March. There was discourse about current movements, tactics for mobilizing people, and best ways to engage younger folks to connect them to issues that are important today…which are not that dissimilar to those in 1963.
